Gosh, I can't believe how velvety those seals came out!! Seeing that shot on the peninsula sipping hot chocolate makes me sad my lunch in a box out there is already over. :(

whoah that seagull shot is NUTS. I've seen a similar scene like this, except they were seals (NOISY ones at that). and I like how the seals all sort of make a weird interweaving cycle form with how they're all moving their necks sort of.

I'm hoping to get some kickbacks from the AK tourism board. Any day my checks will come in...

The rookery with the gulls was awesome. The thing about visiting here is you just can't comprehend how big everything actual is. Hundreds of birds and seals are so shockingly loud that you can't imagine it and the glaciers are impossible to even put into scale with anything you're familiar with. What looks like a nice little lake is easily 800-100 ft deep and can be filled with fish weighing several hundred pounds. You really get humbled by the magnitude of nature and the world here.
