Apparently mushrooms are in season in Texas since I saw at least four separate places they were sprouting up on the short walk we took this weekend to test out my new camera.
These shots really make me wish I could capture the guys in the 1st shot and keep them in a mini terrarium. They look so clean and fluffy. I wonder if you could eat these. I've gone on a 'mushroom walk' in france before. Thankfully I wasn't in charge of picking them, but those were the most amazing ever –we cooked them in butter over a big fire in an old stone cottage fireplace! Really nice shots.
Great shots! I love mushrooms (as an interesting organism rather than an ahem.. lifestyle choice that is). You go to bed one night and the next morning your yard is filled with them. Nice depth of field and variety fungi.
Ohh, Moo, that sounds super cool. I've been having a love affair with France lately.
Mike, I used the lens that came with the camera (18-55mm kit lens), nothing fancy. I was surprised at the detail it picked up too. I just bought this camera, a Canon Rebel T1i. Yean Blanco, I said Canon!
Hahaha. Well obviously I can't argue with the Kutcher part. Sheesh. I don't say anything about your camera, except that I like how your shutter sounds sooo...roboty and mechanical.
It reminds me of a canoe trip we took last summer in the Adirondacks. We saw tons of different mushrooms and I didn't think start taking snap shots with the point and shoot until nearly the end. I really wish we'd have had the nicer cameras for that then.
Purchase prints from Le Clique Members at our new Etsy storefront.
About us:
We know many different types of people: Old and young. Some with background studies in the arts and others in the Sciences. Some may be self-taught tradesmen. Although they have divergent careers and very different upbringings, we've found that many have a common interest in photography.
We all love to press the shutter button, hear that tiny "click" and know that an image is made. Maybe it's a portrait, maybe a landscape, or maybe just a happy accident—the images taken are as different as the individuals that took them.
We formed Le Clique to bring together all of those different people, give them a forum to post their work, and enjoy the juxtapositions, harmony, and contrast between the things they love to photograph. Our contributors have two very simple rules: you must take the photo yourself and it must be for the simple joy of taking it.

So weird, I never thought of mushrooms being in season in Texas. These are great!

Don't let Blanco give you crap about Canon! Her, Earles, and Matt are always ganging up on me for having a Canon.
They're just jealous they don't need Ashton Kutcher to sell their gear. YA I SAID IT.
