Alaska- Fogged in

Great weather for two days, fog and drizzle for the next. Bad for people with curly hair. Good for landscapes. Shot on D3 with 70-200 f2.8VR and 24-70 f2.8. Details below each shot.

Fog covered beach in Prince William Sound.

Mountainside trees shrouded in fog above Seward.

Glacial runoff below Exit glacier outside Seward. Exit glacier deposits one inch of sediment yearly across the valley floor in the form of silt and rock.

Man john, I hate to be a wierdo, but what are you shooting with!!

These shots, as well as your earlier ones, have so much depth!

Oh, we're all nerdy weirdos around these parts. Ha, ha.

Using a borrowed Nikon D3. Amazing camera. So much better at rendering gradations and handling high contrast images than my D300. If I ever get the means I'll definitely be upgrading to a full frame body- it's that much better. As far as lenses I shot the glacial runoff shot with the 70-200 f2.8 vr and the other two with the 50mm f1.8 (my favorite lens by far).

Other than that I've been borrowing the 24-70 f2.8 (which may be the sharpest zoom lens I've ever seen), the awesome 28mm PC-E tilt/shift and I got the eagle shot with a 300vr and 1.4 teleconverter. I've been lucky to be able to borrow lots of equipment that's way to inconvenient and expensive for me to own.

I rarely can capture fog well I feel. Good job on these ones!

Gosh, that last one is a super hot photo. Really nice perspective, especially with the way it is clear in the foreground and then gets foggy the further back.
