Red Race to freedom!

Took these tonight on an evening walk to see the July 4th fireworks out on the Hudson. Turns out our view of fireworks was a bust, but ended up passing this lonesome cart trying to make its break to freedom from its prison confines of the BJ's parking lot –I wonder if it counts if only your front part crosses the finish line...

"I made it! I made it!....DAMN THESE MAGNETIC AUTO BREAKS, I'M STUCK!"

"So close, yet so far away..."

Who said shopping carts can't celebrate Independence Day too??

Ooh, love the red. There's a disco feel to this.

Thanks! I like that the 2nd one has a 'disco' prettier light streak, while the top one is really trashy and lonely looking.

I like the second pic's "third person shooter" view. The streaks are quite nice as well.

It's always quite a shock how red and orange most night photos come out under street light. I've read that it's because the sensors in our digital cameras are more adept at picking up various frequencies and wavelengths of light at night than the rod receptors in our eyes that provide our night vision. Apparently we have almost no sensitivity to process red/orange light at night with our eyes which would result in the discrepencies between what you see and what comes out in the photo at night.
