Little Lost Shoe

I literally stumbled across this children's shoe walking home about a week ago. I snapped a quick shot and thought nothing of it until I had a chance to look through my card a few days ago. I really like how the red contrasts with the gray background. I wasn't expecting the DOF to so extreme, but I think it works.

This is a really lovely photo of something so simple as a child's shoe. I agree, I think the dof works very well, though I almost wish I could see a litte more of the gravely part on the right side up close to the shoe. But I really like the softness in contrast to that punchy red. It's really loaded with a lot of happy personality.

good shot. especially since you didn't even 'take the photo' you just knelt down and held the camera and clicked and had no idea where you were aiming or anything. dead on.

I love when shots like that work!

I'm sorry but I just don't get what's up with everyone loosing a single shoe. You always find just one shoe on the interstate or the highway. Are people getting home and saying "Look at that. Hmmm. I lost a shoe somewhere". It's one of the weird quirks of American life I guess.

Anyway, great photo! The DOF really made the photo for me.
