Siamese Gargoyles

This is the front of my house in Thailand where we have a few "guardians" keeping watch. On the very left is the traditional Spirit House –a place for the spirits who watch over and take care of everyone on the home's property to hang out. And next to that we have our resident gargoyles on alert. This may not be the best pic ever taken, but its definitely one of my own favorites when I miss Thailand.

Yeah! I was hoping you would drop the Thailand shots. I don't know what it is but I'm always a sucker for photos that give you a glimpse into the different lifestyles that accompany living in a different locale. Very cool.

Everything looks so lush. Is it really like this?

I'm very lucky to be able to say yes it is. It helps a lot that we're located smack in the middle of tropic weather with tons of sun and a good amount of rain. Plus, my mother likes having 'things with life' around. We're lucky to be able to live in a 'big city' of skycrapers and condos but still have our little oasis (though I do have to admit that over there it's more the norm for city homes to have their own mini jungle gardens –very unlike new york where you're lucky if you can have a single hanging plant in your apartment)
