NYC light experiment
John's last post below this inspired me (and refreshed my memory since I'd forgotten) to dig up this shot I took years ago. It was when I'd just gotten a new camera and was eager to see how it did with night time shots etc. So I ended up experimenting at night out the apartment window of Kips Bay Towers.

It's weird, but I feel like I've seen this photo of yours before. Very cool.
Great photo! I love how taking photos through glass almost always turns out terrible, yet this time it made the photo. It goes to show that you can never tell what's going to happen until you actually take the photo.
thanks that's one of my favorite things! taking pics that 'as a rule turn out terrible' but hopefully working around that typical rule and making something cool come out. I'm a total giddy dork when it comes to being able to figure out how to get a dinky little point and shoot to take cool shots with some experimenting. "Oh I can't take a good pic out of a moving vehicle on a bumpy road? let's see"
